What is Healthy Leaders?
Healthy Leaders is a publication of LeaderSource, focusing specifically on healthy Christian leadership and leader development.
For more than 30 years, LeaderSource has partnered with hundreds of church planting networks and ministries in dozens of nations around the world, teaching leaders how to build leaders. Our mission is to catalyze and strengthen indigenous movements of healthy leader development and care, and thereby accelerate church planting and disciple-making, especially among the least served.
The LeaderSource approach to training is biblically-sound and proven in many cultures. Leader development will look different from nation to nation, and culture to culture, but the core principles developed by LeaderSource are effective anywhere they are taught. As a result, the leaders we train go on to train many new leaders themselves.
Two important aspects of our leader development strategy are training leaders and providing quality resources for their growth.
We train leaders on the core principles and practices of healthy leader development. We do not just give them a particular curriculum or preplanned leader development “package” but instead help them to internalize the fundamental biblical principles of holistic leader development.
We resource leaders with printed materials, models, frameworks, tools, examples of learning design, and case studies of effective leader development in a variety of contexts, and other pertinent resources.
These two aspects are where Healthy Leaders as a publication comes in. We take the models and teachings of Dr. Malcolm Webber, our founder, and apply them directly to your context as a leader, providing real-time applications, and real-world examples of growth and transformation in front-line leaders.
Leader development is critical. Church history shows us that without healthy leaders, the church will not come to maturity and much of the incredible harvest of souls that we’ve seen will be lost. But if we build healthy leaders, they will build healthy churches that will in turn change their communities and impact their nations.
